FinMark Trust is a non-profit independent trust, funded primarily by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), and was established in March 2002.  Its mission is to make financial markets work for the poor. FinMark Trust conducts research across Africa and aims to promote and support policy and institutional development in the financial services sector, by increasing access to financial services for the unserved and underserved.

In pursuit of our objective "Making Financial Markets Work for the Poor", FinMark Trust aims to promote and support policy and institutional development towards the aim of increasing access to financial services by the un- and under-served in Africa.
